ATTITUDES TO HOSPITAL CARE AMONG A COMMUNITY SAMPLE OF PEOPLE AGED 75 AND OLDER
University of Wales College of Medicine, Research Team for the Care of the Elderly, St David's Hospital Cowbridge Road, Cardiff CF1 9TZ
A random sample of elderly people aged 75 and over living in their own homes were questioned about their experiences, knowledge and beliefs about three hospital in-patient facilities: general medical and geriatric wards, and geriatric hospitals. Attitudes towards geriatric wards and hospitals were consistently less positive than those towards general medical wards.
